In general, the rules are as follows:
Format for the Primary Domain
Hosting with cPanel

Note: Be sure to replace the underlined items above with the actual values for your server name and cPanel username, which can be located in your Welcome email or cPanel’s General Information section. General Information Section
- 1.) Log into cPanel.
- 2.) Search for the General Information section on the right-side menu.
- 3.) Take note of the Current User (cPanel user) and the Server Hostname.
Note: For Resellers with WHM, it will usually be a one-word server name. The domain “temp.domains” is owned by Hostgator and “.domains” is a valid domain extension, so that’s how the URL works.
Hosting with Plesk
http://domain.com.the-IP-address.hgws#.hgwin.temp.domains/Note: Be sure to replace all of the above with the actual values (found in Welcome email) and to have the dashes between the IP octets instead of dots.
